Lindsey Noble

Lindsey has been Principal and Chief Executive at Southampton City College since March 2001. She has led the College through its transition from a poorly performing College in dire financial difficulty to one which is now financially sound, has rising student numbers and has dramatically improving student success rates. The College has successfully completed phases 1 and 2 of its campus redevelopment with phases 3 and 4 due to start in the next 18 months. In November 2006 City College merged its work based learning operation with City Training which now forms part of City College. The merger has enabled the College to offer a broad employer-based apprenticeship programme for young people and adults complementing the College-based service.

Lindsey has worked in the College sector since 1991 where she started with South East Essex College of Arts and Technology in Southend Essex. She has held a variety of roles including Director of Marketing and communications, Director of Student support and Director of Corporate planning. Before moving to Essex Lindsey had a career in the retail industry; firstly working as a graduate management trainee and retail manager with Debenhams and then in the cosmetics and perfumery industry in sales and marketing roles.

Lindsey has a degree in geography from Sheffield University and a MBA degree from the Open University. She has a daughter Fern, who is currently studying at Bristol University.

Lindsey is a member of the Southampton Partnership Strategy Board, Vice-chair of the 14-19 Partnership Board, Director of the West Itchen Trust, member of the Skills and employability board and City College is a City Champion.
