Kathy Slack
![]() | Kathy Slack is SEEDA’s Area Director for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, a job she has held since 2003. Kathy is responsible for providing a strategic lead to deliver the Regional Economic Strategy in conjunction with sub-regional priorities in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Kathy plays an important role in forging and strengthening relationships with key partners and stakeholders to ensure a better understanding of the role of SEEDA and in facilitating the future development and success of the sub-region’s future. Prior to this Kathy headed up the Learning and Skills Strategy Development team responsible for aspects of the Regional Economic Strategy. Kathy was Learning Policy Manager at the Government Office of the South East before joining SEEDA and has been directly involved with TECs, Business Links and the Careers Service. She was the Employment Services Area Manager, for Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire and in the 1980’s was involved in the development of employment policy at the Department of Employment. Her passion in learning extends to her home life where she supports her young family and she was until recently a school governor. She plays an active role within her community leading a group looking at the needs of villages, which have been held up as an example of good practice. Kathy is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. |
