Dr John Stewart is married and has greatly enjoyed living in Southampton for the last 15 years. He retired 12 years ago from the Natural Environment Research Council’s Centre for Ecology and Hydrology at Wallingford and now works part time as an Associate Editor of a scientific journal.

As a Christian he feels passionately about the under-privileged. His experience working as a volunteer with charities supporting refugees and giving debt and benefit advice helps him understand the problems of those suffering deprivation in our City.
