Evelyn Byrne moved to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Learning and Skills Council in August 2007 to take up the post of Partnership Director. Prior to that she worked at the Learning and Skills Council National Office in Coventry from when it was established in 2000.

Evelyn was born and educated in Birmingham where she successfully completed an Honours degree and a Post Graduate Management qualification whilst she was in full time employment for Birmingham City Council. She worked in a variety of capacities for the Council for seventeen years mainly in the Education and Social Services Departments and then as a Vice Principal of an inner city Birmingham Further Education College for fifteen years.

Evelyn served as a Magistrate in Solihull for ten years prior to moving to Hampshire and has recently transferred to the Southampton Bench.
