Dr Andrew Mortimore has lived and worked in Southampton since 1992. Andrew trained in Cambridge and London and, before specialising in public health, worked as a clinician in the NHS and for ten years in Africa. Andrew has been the Public Health Director in Southampton since 2002, a joint appointment with the City Council and the local Primary Care Trust.

Andrew represents the health sector on a number of key partnerships across the City, and is a strong advocate for improving health and reducing inequalities through action on the social and wider determinants of health.
