Partnership Development
The Southampton Partnership is committed to ensuring that it, and its 'partnership family', benefit from structured partnership development activities and through learning from local, regional and national best practice in order to secure the best possible outcomes for local people through partnership working. It achieves this through its active involvement in the South East Region Progress through Partnership (PtP) Programme - the capacity building programme for the 74 LSPs in the region.
Each year, through the PtP Programme, all LSPs are required to undertake to self-assessment to monitor progress and development needs.
In May 2008, in response to an identified need for a dedicated network to discuss the issues facing LSPs based in unitary authority areas, Southampton championed the development of the South East Unitary LSP Network comprising of Bracknell Forest; Brighton & Hove; Isle of Wight; Medway; Milton Keynes; Portsmouth; Reading; Slough; West Berkshire; Windsor & Maidenhead; and Wokingham.
In 2006/07, the Southampton Partnership purchased a well-established Partnering Framework tool (developed by Bridge for Lincolnshire County Council) to start to embed a consistent citywide approach to partnership development and maintenance, and also went on to undertake a first wave of partnership health-checks to identify generic partnership development needs.
