Southampton Information, Training & Employment Services (SITES)
Overarching Purpose:
SITES is a sub group of the Skills and Employability board and their role is to provide a coordinated approach to skills shortages, labour market issues and social inclusion in the southampton area.
The focus for SITES is, through the work of providers and partners, to reach people from disadvantged backgrounds, as well as those who live within the priority neighbourhoods of Southampton to increase their employability and skill levels. Efforts will be concentrated on skills sectors where there is a known skills or labour shortage or where job growth is forecast for Southampton. These include construction, retail, leisure and hospitality, marine sector, health and social care and public service.
